External Wall Insulation in Sidcup
External Wall Insulation can make a huge difference to comfort and running costs, and this private home is a perfect example. The property originally showed a patchwork of bare brick and tired render. Cracks spidered across the walls, gaps had opened at old joints, and the house was leaking heat through every exposed surface. Our brief was simple: sort out the insulation, give the client a smart, low-maintenance finish, and keep future bills down.

We installed a full external wall insulation system using 90 mm EPS boards, followed by a fresh coat of silicone render. This has made a significant difference, not just in the appearance of the house, but also in its performance. The walls are now properly insulated, so the property will hold onto heat much better in winter and stay cooler in summer.

The silicone render gives a clean, modern finish and protects the house from rain, damp and everyday wear and tear. As a final touch, we also updated the window sills to suit the new look and ensure everything was properly sealed and weatherproofed.
What we did:
- Installed EPS external wall insulation to reduce heat loss
- Applied silicone render for a weather-resistant and clean finish
- Repaired problem areas where the old render had cracked or worn away
- Finished off with new sills to match the updated exterior
Why EPS and Silicone Render?
- EPS offers an excellent balance of insulation value and cost, ideal when cavity fill isn’t an option.
- Silicone render is flexible, so it moves with the building and resists cracking better than a cementitious scratch coat. Together, they deliver a warm, dry, and low-maintenance envelope.
